Impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on appeals
Democratic Services at Bristol City Council administer the appeal process for BCCS. We are monitoring government guidance and currently considering the possible impact of the coronavirus on admission appeals. The Appeals Panel are unpaid and trained volunteers so there may be unavoidable delays this year due to the virus outbreak.

As a parent/carer you have expressed a preference to your home local authority regarding the school you would like your child to attend. However, if the year group applied for is oversubscribed and has reached its published admission number (PAN), the admission authority may not be able to meet your preference. Compliance with your preference would “prejudice the provision of efficient education or the efficient use of resources” at the school. Under the Education Act a parent/carer has the right to appeal against the decision to refuse their child a place at a school for which they have applied for.

Parents should submit Year 7 2020 appeal forms by Friday 1st May to the Admissions Officer, Bristol Cathedral Choir School, College Square, Bristol, BS1 5TS. As the school is now closed until further notice please submit appeal forms via email to admissions@cathedralschoolstrust.org

Year 7 appeals will be heard from week commencing Monday 1st June 2020.
