Subject Choices

Specialist A-level provision

We offer more than 20 A-levels and our curriculum is growing! Based on feedback and demand, we have added Economics, German and Sociology to our offer for the 2017-18 academic year.

The A-levels we offer are all linear qualifications. With recent changes to A-levels, we believe this is the best way forward and will allow us to support our students most effectively throughout their courses.

Our primary aim is to ensure that we get students onto the right courses for them. Consequently, students typically choose four subjects to begin their A-levels in Year 12, but this is reduced to three after four weeks of lessons for the majority of the cohort. This gives students the opportunity to gain an insight into each course before committing to two years of study and ensures that they are fully aware of the exciting challenges ahead!

Along with the many other facets of our Additional Programme, students also have the opportunity to study the Extended Project Qualification. This can help foster essential research and presentation skills required for a successful university career. It provides an opportunity for students to extend their abilities beyond the A Level specification and can be used to earn UCAS points and enhance a University application.

These are the subjects that we expect to offer in September 2017. Please click on the subjects for course details. Further details can be found by clicking on the subject.
