Introduction

Welcome to Bristol Cathedral Choir School Sixth Form

Bristol Cathedral Choir School can claim to be one of the country’s oldest educational establishments. It is an entirely unique environment, where 13th-century cloisters meet cutting-edge classroom technology.

Our students come from all parts of Bristol. Each year we welcome existing BCCS students and a large number of new entrants from other schools into Year 12, all attracted by high standards of A-level achievement and provision.

The transition to A-levels is a challenging and exciting stage in education. As a relatively small Sixth Form we are very proud of the individual academic and pastoral guidance that we can offer.

We strive to produce a culture that promotes independence and responsibility; we challenge all students to reach their potential. It is our aim to prepare our students not just for the very best universities, but also for the challenges and choices which they will face in adult life. We want our students to be prepared to make confident and positive contributions to society.

Academically, our students flourish, benefiting from a dedicated and passionate teaching staff. The majority of our students will progress to university and Higher Education, reading degrees in a wide range of subjects including the Arts, Sciences and Humanities.

Our teaching and support staff are committed to providing a stimulating, creative and challenging education, sharing their enthusiasm for their subject areas and for working with young adults. We believe strongly in building a fun, vibrant and supportive community where students develop a life-long love of learning.

Our Sixth Form team is headed up Mr Will Davies (Head of Year 12) and Mrs Wendy Boyland (Head of Year 13).

If you are excited about reaching your potential at A-level and joining a supportive and friendly community, we look forward to discussing the opportunities with you.
