Beyond the Classroom

We expect students to get involved beyond the classroom and develop their talents and passions in other areas. We believe all these experiences are integral to an exciting and memorable Sixth Form Experience.

The School’s music specialism status means that there are extraordinary opportunities to develop musical talent.

There are a large number of orchestras, ensembles and choirs all keen to welcome new members. The school regularly performs at prestigious venues such as St George’s and Colston Hall, as well as Bristol Cathedral.

There is a strong sporting tradition, with regular fixtures in rugby, football, cricket, hockey and netball for senior teams. There are regular overseas tours (eg to Canada and Italy) to look forward to as well.

We have long-lasting links with Uganda, allowing our students to visit and help local communities and schools.

If sport or music is not for you, then there are a host of other initiatives to broaden your horizons. These include: charity initiatives; Debating Club; Comedy Club; Film Club; Feminist Society and Gabblers’ Club to name a few. We challenge you to start your own!

We have weekly topical lectures from outside speakers, addressing anything from career aspirations to topical and controversial themes.
